The Carnegie Center
The Carnegie Center is a museum in Downtown Jackson, TN. The museum focuses on the music of West Tennessee. It has the biggest Carl Perkins exhibit on earth. Tennessee native Carl Perkins was a singer and songwriter who wrote “Blue Suede Shoes” and “Everybody’s Trying to Be My Baby.” The Carnegie Center also has a Civil War collection and artifacts.
It was previously The Jackson Free Library and partially funded by Andrew Carnegie. The Carnegie Center became a museum in 1987. It was previously called the Discovery Museum of West Tennessee.
